Lebanese Civil Gathering prepares for its launch

BEIRUT: A new group dubbed the Lebanese Civil Gathering will be launched Wednesday, its organizers said. The gathering’s members began their work six months ago on developing the concept of the civil state.
The gathering will meet Wednesday and announce its manifesto, which is influenced by the wave of popular uprisings in the Arab world.

The gathering’s founders who developed the baselines of its founding statement include Malek Mrowa, Hares Sleiman and Mona Fayyad, who are also three members of the Democratic Renewal Movement’s executive committee.
