Yemen officials: UN ship's cargo unloaded in rebel-held port
Car bomb kills 5 in Aden; Daesh claims responsibility
Associated Press
SANAA: Yemeni officials say a U.N.-chartered aid vessel has docked and its cargo was being unloaded in the key port of Hodeida, following a three-week blockade by a Saudi-led Arab coalition fighting Shiite rebels in Yemen.

The officials say the vessel belonging to the World Food Program docked in Hodeida earlier on Tuesday. They also say that another vessel, carrying commercial cargo, is being unloaded in the port of Salif, which is also in rebel hands.

The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they weren't authorized to talk to reporters.

The Saudi-led Arab coalition fighting Yemen's Shiite rebels, known as Houthis, had promised to reopen Yemen's main airport and the port of Hodeida to humanitarian traffic last week.

It went to war in March 2015 on behalf of Yemen's internationally recognized government.

Car bomb kills 5 in Aden; Daesh claims responsibility

SANAA: Yemeni witnesses and officials say a powerful car bomb has struck a government building in the southern port city of Aden, killing five people and wounding 12. The attack was claimed by Daesh (ISIS).

The witnesses and security officials say the early Wednesday blast completely destroyed the Finance Ministry building, damaged nearby houses and triggered fires in shops in the area. They spoke on condition of anonymity, fearing retribution.

The U.S.-based SITE Intelligence Group, which monitors jihadi websites, said Daesh's affiliate in Yemen claimed responsibility in an online statement.

Aden has seen an uptick in violence, with a series of attacks and assassinations claimed by the Daesh branch. The city is the seat of Yemen's internationally recognized government, which is at war with Shiite rebels.
