Nasrallah to urge Hariri to speed up Cabinet formation
BEIRUT: Hezbollah’s Secretary-General Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah is set to deliver a speech Friday evening on the occasion of Quds Day, discussing local and regional developments.

Local media has reported that Nasrallah will touch on the ongoing discussions to form a new Lebanese government. Al-Joumhouria reported that Nasrallah will call on Prime Minister-designate Saad Hariri to speed up the formation of a new Cabinet.

Nasrallah is also expected to discuss the recent reports of Iran and Hezbollah’s discontent over Russian soldiers deployed along the Lebanese-Syrian border earlier this week.

On Tuesday, Reuters reported that Russia had deployed troops in Syria near the Lebanese border, leading to “friction” with Iranian-backed forces, including Hezbollah. The Reuters report quoted two non-Syrian officials in the regional alliance backing Damascus.
