Lebanese believe graft is up significantly - NGO

BEIRUT: Eighty-two percent of the Lebanese believe corruption has significantly increased in the past three years, the Lebanese Transparency Association (LTA) revealed during a luncheon with journalists Wednesday. Thirty-four percent of Lebanese have resorted to bribery in the last 12 months to expedite public transactions, said the LTA.

 

The organization gave the media a sneak peak on projects its has undertaken during 2010. LTA said Lebanon has yet to improve its placement on international corruption scales. – The Daily Star
