TRIPOLI: The Lebanese American University (LAU) has concluded training programs to enhance leadership skills for several hundred young people in cooperation with the Safadi Foundation.

The program featured training sessions on leadership skills, the art of public speaking, conflict resolution and negotiation skills for around 300 students from private and public schools in Tripoli and Sidon.

The move is part of the joint program of LAU and the Safadi Foundation, entitled “Youth Leadership” and saw the implementation of the UN model for leadership. It was the first time that students from public schools received training on a UN model.

Under the slogan of “Youth Teach Youth,” a number of distinguished LAU students who attended training courses on youth leadership programs at the Safadi Cultural Center conducted two training sessions themselves, in Tripoli and in Sidon. The training sessions targeted students aged between 12 and 14.

The programs also aim at enabling young people to make an effective change in society.
In Sidon, the youth leadership training session was held in cooperation with the Nibras institution.
